The only run your regret is the one you didn’t do
Struggling to get out the door?
I get it,
Weather is so random each day,
You’ve had a long stressful day,
You know going out will help you relieve that stress but you just can’t find the energy to put your shoes on and get out.
I’ve been there myself, even in the morning as I’m just getting up I look outside see dark clouds, wind, maybe rain and just think “Nope not today”
Then I’m just delaying it and delaying it to the point I have to convince myself to get out or think of valid reason not to.
Sound familiar?
Here’s the kicker….
You will always have the energy for it (as long as you’ve eaten well in the day too)
So it’s just convincing yourself to get out there,
Or just tricking yourself for that time to get it done.
CHALLENGE FOR YOU.....
- Try to find a reason not to go out,
Usually you won’t, so your mind will be half made up and will look at going out more openly.
- Next, set yourself a small target, like 15 minutes round the block.
Setting a target itself shows you’re wanting to get out the door and attempt something.
- Now, tell yourself "I'm going to put my running shoes on"
Higher chances are you probably won't even have to say it, you'll already be doing it.
If you hit the 15 minutes and feel good keep going,
If you want to stop then stop,
BUT,
You’ve still done that 15 minutes. And chances are you will usually keep going….
It’s true.
- The result of completing this challenge…..
YOU GOT OUT THE DOOR!! 🙌🏻🥳
Everything else was bound to happen you just needed to get yourself out, once you close that door you’re committed to the run no matter how small it is
And the best thing, you’ll always feel a lot better in yourself for going out.
The saying goes,
“The only run you regret, is the one you didn’t do”
Don’t have any regrets about your day,
And don’t let your day, no matter how stressful effect your health and stop you from doing those things that make you feel better in yourself.
Hope this helps you if you’re struggling getting out that door recently.
Have a great week
