Weight loss vs fat loss

Wait... losing weight and losing fat aren't the same thing?⠀

Yep, there's a big difference actually. In this post I’m going to talk about the differences and what you should be doing.

WEIGHT LOSS⠀
Its the difference in your weight on the scale. It never tells the whole story, since it doesn't know how much fat and muscle you have.⠀

You can lose several pounds in a day on the scale, but its simply your body holding onto less water, not actual fat loss.⠀

By manipulating your water, sodium, and carbohydrate intake you can change your weight on the scale drastically, without having any impact on your body composition.⠀

FAT LOSS⠀
In order for fat loss to happen you need to be in a consistent calorie deficit, strength train (yes lift weights) and eat a sufficient amount of protein to maintain lean muscle mass.

You can create this calorie deficit through exercising more and/or eating less.

This is the ONLY WAY to lose fat.⠀

Every diet plan out there works if it puts you in a calorie deficit.
Whether its by;
😒 eliminating carbs 😒
😤 Keto 😤
😫 Fasting 😫
🤬 Herbalife 🤬
And all the rest of those fad diets.

BUT.....

Which plan is BEST?⠀

The best plan is the one that WORKS FOR YOU.
The best plan for fat loss WON’T WORK if you are unable to adhere to it.

BUT.....

Why restrict yourself?

Carbs ain’t evil. Bread isn’t the devils work.
And who wants to have “replacement shakes” rather than actual delicious, nutritious food?

A clue..... NO ONE!

Don’t focus on the number of the scale and beat yourself up over having some pasta....

Focus on your “Non-scale victories” that happens with fat loss.
Eg;
💪🏻 Body measurements (cm) 💪🏻
👗👖Dropping clothes sizes- 👖👗
🏋🏻‍♂️ Stronger gym sessions 🏋🏻‍♂️
